Hey Frankie.... I have to agree. I jumped onto internet dating for 5 mins and just didn't like it. And I have guy friends who internet date and they have constantly got several chicks on the go. You can go out with someone one night and they are chatting to five chicks online the next. It just didn't sit well with me and I took my profile down within a week. Its a tough one. But stick to your guns, seriously. Internet was supposed to make the whole thing easier, I just think it makes it far more complicated. xx

And lets face it, guys like shiny things.. If they spend all day looking for more shiny things, there's always gonna be something that catches their attention. Idiots.

Yeah...there's no way I'm going out with him (if he contacts me again). Him being on the dating site all day was already a red flag but now it's a major NO NO. It's just insulting ..

I'd even be worried about ANYONE I met. Dating sites are like magnets for men. There's so many married guys on there as well. Some saying their looking for something on the side, some pretending to be single. It's a jungle out there!

Phew! Hmmmm ok let's break it down:

*Can he really be sitting on the site the whole day or is he just 'logged in'? He could've forgot about it etc?
*He could be worried that YOU don't like him and he could be just getting to know more ladies incase, so IF you don't like him he's already met some one else with whom he can chat later or further? Remember he is allowed to do that, don't judge to quick?
*Are you feeling insecure, impatient or jealous? ;-)
*IF he's newly seperated I'd be cautious too, it's just too early to date again, no?
*Why not just be honest with him, say yes I did like you and would like to get to know you better, I frikken would, no harm done to be honest ....?
*And again, what are you looking for?
:Friendship, soul mate, partner for life, some one to share your life with or just some one to keep your bed warm? Maybe sort that out first and then look for what you want and be less dissapointed.
*Have you tried Figtrees yet, I think it's another site and what about The Big Couch, it's funny, go check 'em out, they are all single and FB-ing about it.
*Good luck mate, he's around the corner I know ... it's just time!!
*I'll txt you the weekend, maybe we can go have a cuppa?

Oh forgot to say, maybe the new pic is meant for you???? yeah think about it, txt him and say "btw love the new look" Why not be honest and give it a go! I would!

Internet dating makes me paranoid.

Not saying you are paranoid by any stretch of the imagination, but I feel your frustration.

I have been there, internet dating, it has put me off someone when I have had a date with them and then see them back online the next day.

Makes me go Hmmmm and I would like the benifit to not go Hmmmm so early on in a potential whateveritmaybe.

My father has had three maybe four relationships with women he has met off the internet in the last 4 years, and he still keeps an eye out for "someone better" as if at 54 he has all the options in the world. It is men. They do like new things and they know that women over 25 have heard all the lines and usually know all the bullshit so their profile facade fades quickly.

Unfortunatly in my experience, I have found newly seperated men have fresh baggage, they may not want to face who they are for a good while and that means dating a women with a brain.

I make little sense but I am sleep deprived, you sound just as I imagined after reading your blog for so long. It was great :)

Flea. Nup. If you are logged in but not active it goes a different colour. His stays on green which means he's active on there. I do know what I want. I want a relationship. He said that's what he was looking for. He's a douche. I'm free most of the weekend so text me and yep, well have a catch up! x

Kek...even most of the good ones are idiots hahaha!

Iris - I knowwww. argh. Where do I meet normal guys who aren't addicted to dating sites??

Katie - nope, you don't sound sleep deprived at all and YES totally agree and understand everything you've said. I usually refer to guys who are recently separated as "fresh meat"..not nice..sorry guys but more referring to freshly 'cut'. I think women, who leave a marriage, have been out of that marriage for a long time, in their minds already (I know I was). Men however, seem (and this is a very general statement drawing on my own experience) to take a long time to adjust and work through things after a break up. Much easier for us as we've usually got a million other women to talk to about it and men..well they just don't want to talk about it that much. I'm not interested in guys who are still working through it. I'm happy for a little baggage but need someone who's let go of any anger and hurt. I don't need that in my life. Also, if a guy's just come out of a 10 year marriage I would prefer he go crazy and sew his oats BEFORE he meets me! x

Friday... TOTALLY annoying. Single is just FINE. PS I DO bloody smile ..don't I? Damn.

Funny story ... met my last...whatever he was ... online, we went out for 4 years. He was the 3rd person I decided to have a 'date' with, I was over it. Well things went ok, but after 4 years I realised we were just too different, and no matter how much they say they are 'over' their ex, I believe men have far more baggage than women. So I broke it off. A month or so later I went into an online site to see who was on there .... the same people as 4 years ago. After a Red or twenty I put my profile up. But I never put my picture or anything resembling my real name. Well, guess who "loved my profile and would like to get to know me?" It was the ex, and I knew it was him as this time he put a pic up. Two things, he obviously wasn't devestated by my departure, reinforcing that I did the right thing, and he farkin' tried to chat me up again (not lnowing it was me)... I just pissed myself laughing. That was all a year ago this month. It's been an up and down year, mostly up, but I'm much happier now. Erika

OK Frankie, a few things:

1. Lose the Canuck. A shot of the neck to waist... with no head? He needs a shot IN the head.

2. Did you say Rock Chick? As in my kinda music? I want more on that... and I mean band names, best concerts etc...

3. I'm not on a dating site.

4. You are ADORABLE!!

Linda ...thanks :o)

hahah Es, that's just like the Pina Colada song...'cept with a bad ending hahaha!

BamBam - I was IN a band baby! Back in the mid -80's. Cover band with a few originals. Started out doing top 40 cover and ended up going into heavier stuff and a bit of obscure 70's stuff. I played keyboards. Used to play most of the pubs around Perth. I will do a blog post just for you..with photos! Meanwhile you really should see this for a warm up . There's one band photo in there... http://fifidangerfield.blogspot.com/2010/04/80s-decade-in-bad-hair-and-fashion.html

I look forward to that blog! I have seen those 80's pics before - they are priceless.

The closest I ever got to being in a band was singing "Sin City" by AC/DC in the school talent show. I was about 17 and my 13 yo sister thought I was a Rock God. She was probably the only one!

My next "performance" will be a recording of "Darling Point Road" to the tune of "Copperhead Road" for Fingers' 50th in November... it will be highly embarrassing for me but hopefully entertaining for the old cunt and his friends!!

If it goes over slightly better than a lead balloon I might blog the lyrics.... emphasis on the word "might"...

But... you first!!!

Frankie said...

ok then, when I can be bothered scanning all the photos I'll do it. Now I just need someone with a hidden camera a Finger's birthday....

Great rant. Am a guy, as you know. Hard to believe so many other fellas now are such arseholes. Especially Canuck guys, with me being one... You are such a gorgeous and fun gal Frankie - I just don't get it with the fellas there. They ARE idiots.
